At the University of Oslo (or Universitetet i Oslo), I took three courses at the musicology department: Music and Cultural Studies; Nordic Music Histories, Genres and Identities; and Research Seminar in Popular Music. I wrote a paper with a topic of my own choice for each course.
For the first class, I analysed the book Why Suyá Sing: A Musical Anthropology of an Amazonian People by Anthony Seeger in 1987, an ethnomusicological study on the Suyá's singing culture.
The second paper examined the evolution of the perspective on the oeuvres, composing styles and lifes of Norwegian female composers over the past centuries: Frederikke Egeberg for the 19th century, Pauline Hall for the first half of the 20th century, and Cecilie Ore for the second half of the 20th and beginning of this century.
The third and last paper studied the incorporation of elements of traditional Norwegian and Sami music into contemporary Norwegian and Sami popular music.

Besides the interesting seminars and papers, I travelled to various destinations inside and outside of Norway, on my own or accompanied by friends. Each trip was filled with new adventures and challenges
